The Sam Bearman Trust was set up in memory of Sam who lost his life on January 06th 2011 to meningitis at the age of 24.

Sam was a man who lived his life to the full. He had an immense appetite for fun, laughter and love and all those who met him were always left with a great memory and a smile on their faces.

He cared for others without ever judging them and performed many, many selfless acts to make sure others felt good about themselves.

His death has left a huge hole in the lives of his family and his many friends and it is this hole that we fill with the legacy of Sam and the aims of The Sam Bearman Trust.

Sam had a huge love of music and festivals and it is fitting that each year we put on a festival that is based upon the ethos of his life and committed to providing a fun, caring and sharing environment for all those who attend.

This is the genesis of The Big Bear Fest.  It is primarily a music festival that is designed to not exclude anybody and to provide affordable for all entertainment whatever your age, sex, religion or race.

The Sam Bearman Trust is the vehicle for distributing profits raised from the annual Big Bear Fest. We are predisposed to providing donations or grants to charities that have the same charitable aims of Sam Bearman and the Trustees.

The objects of the Trust are:

“the promotion of health, the relief of poverty and the prevention of harm to children at risk of significant harm through making grants to appropriate charities.”

For full details of those who can apply for a grant or donation please see the funding page above.  Each case will be dealt with sympathetically and with care.

One Love

All at The Big Bear Fest
